It depends entirely on your build and its purpose.

^ what he said.. Generally.. Swords for inflicting conditions, axes for spike dmg and hammers for knockdowns.
If you are asking about upgrades, then it depends alot on what you want to do with ur wpn.

I'm partial to axe. If you Factor in weapons damage and criticals axes have the highest Damage.
Swords really arent for conditions really people keep saying that but swords have the same conditions as an axe except for bleeding and a slightly easier to apply hamstring. The one good thing about Swords is that you dont need to fill your elite spot with an attack to get the most damage out of it. Final Thrust is one of the best attack skills in the game and the best Damage single attack skill.
Hammers have a slower but more powerful attacks combined with knockdowns to prevent kiting and casting.
I say Ideally you should learn to play all three types of warrior you become a better player for it.

This has been debated before.
Swords are better for inflicting conditions with cripple on demand, ability to quickly bleed and follow up with a deep wound. If you are talking about spike dmg with final thrust, true that it has the potential to do more dmg than evicerate but you lose any adren you built up making the sword combo not as spam-able as the axe's. Once you have ur conditions already on ur target, your 2 skill slots are no longer used unless you need to re-apply them and you need to wait for the right moment to use final thrust. However, by using a sword, you have a choice of an elite and better benifit from tactic skills like riposte and glads def. I would dare say that swords are better for PvE, as warriors are expected to be the tank. Personal opinion, pls dun flame me.
Axes are better able to spike with most of their skills having a +dmg to ur strikes and are mostly non-conditional (can be used at any time once adren is built up). This means you can wait until ur combo is ready and fire them off one blow after another and because you do not lose ur adren, you are building it up even while doing ur combo. This allows you to spike more often compaired to swords. Down side is you have to use an axe elite. Personal opinion again, I'd say axes are better for PvP, or any situation where there is a monk. Being able to produce a continuous string of high dmg can really keep the pressure up.
Hammers are better at interupting. Their spikes are scary in one on one. Definately for PvP. Down side is you lose out in defense, so you'll need some monk support. Can be used for PvE but warriors are usually expected to tank. Great fun though

I'm kinda new here but here's what I use..
F1: Max Gold Perfect Vamp axe of Fort. +29 and Eternal Shield -2 (stance) -2 (enchanted) "and I use a life gaining enchantment"
F2: Dragos Axe, Magmas Shield +48 health, -2 enchanted
As a W/M I have weaned myself off of using a bow for secondary weapon set from when I was a W/R and used it to pull. I have found that having a nasty vamp axe customised has done more damage and gained me more health during a fight than Dragos Axe and any shield combo. I start off with The vamp axe combo until I see my life dwindeling if it happens then switch to F2 to stop the life gain/loss effect and run with Dragos until I build back up health. I don't know why this seems to work well, but it has done me some good.
You may critisize me if you want or suggest some alternatives if you have any. It's just what I have found to work well for myself.

Lol... "I'm kinda new but i have some of the most expensive weapons and shields in the game". And you cant have 48 health on an enchanted shield.
If your looking for good weapons for a cheap price, I would suggest the collector's from the Desert on. Stance is my favorite, unless I'm in Fire Islands (boo to wild blow). And yes, as the above said, this has been debated many times before. I personally agree with the double swordchucks. FIGHTER FTW!!!

"New to the forums" "+48 health (hexed) on the Magmas. Hope that clears it up for ya. I've been playing for a while and had to farm/trade/buy most of what I have. I get few drops that I actually keep/use, except for runes. I get awsome runes off salvaging most of the time.
